A Sicilian villa with a sea view
Luxury Villa Sicily
This secluded, converted farmhouse typifies the kind of villas I recommend in Sicily. It is located in an area I know well in the north of the island, an hour east of Palermo, near the coastal town of Cefalu. I love this place for its laid-back style, mature garden and panoramic sea views. Here you can really enjoy la dolce vita. It is the perfect villa for unwinding and a good base for exploring the island. It is ideal for a reunion with family or friends, perhaps to celebrate a special anniversary or birthday.
Top features include:
bedrooms
bathrooms
mins from Palermo airport
Fantastic outdoor space
After a morning coffee or refreshing dip in the swimming pool, wander through the well-tended garden bursting with olive trees and lavender then help yourself to cherries or persimmon from the orchard. Put your feet up with a cool drink on the smooth covered terrace framed with palm trees and admire the panoramic sea views – this where you can truly unwind.
Well located
Your nearest town is just 15 minutes drive away for supplies and a local beach. Just further along the coast is the historic town of Cefalù with its long sandy beach. Famous as a location in Giuseppe Tornatore’s film Cinema Paradiso, here you can stroll through the picturesque historic centre with gelato in hand, then shop like a local and buy fresh fish, fruit and vegetables from small street stalls. Pizzerias, fish restaurants, bars and boutiques line the cobbled streets of the historic centre and at its heart lies the impressive Arab-Norman Duomo, now a UNESCO World heritage site.
Plenty to see and do nearby
Explore the mountains of the Madonie National Park, home to the winery of Sant’ Anastasia, walking trails and mountain villages. For a taste of city life, Palermo is just an hour away by car or train for Sicilian street food, lively markets and the famous Teatro Massimo, a location in The Godfather part 3.
Concierge Service
There is a local team who can arrange sightseeing itineraries and services so you can experience the best Sicily has to offer, from pizza making lessons for children, winery excursions and fishing trips.
Chef service
For a special celebration or one-off meals, there is a chef on hand to cater for everyone so you can relax and enjoy the villa without having to lift a finger.
Stylish
Welcoming and spacious, it combines the authentic appeal of a Sicilian stone farmhouse with an elegant modern finish. Colourful patterned tiled floors, wooden beams and ceramics give it a warmth and unique style.
Essentials
Apart from linen and services of a housekeeper, a cook and food hamper can be arranged.
